A landmark pub A landmark pub in Dublin! Old Victorian style, dark solid wood, red leather, impressive bar and a stag's head hanging over it (outside too, at the facade)...We visited for a late lunch on a Friday, there were many customers but we managed to find a nice table. The waitress was polite and quick. We ordered our Smithwick's beers (our first try of the Smithwick's brand in our Dublin trip), a red and a pale ale and we shared the sandwich of the day: open style with salmon and side of fries. It was very good (the bread too)! We wanted the pulled pork from the regular menu but they didn't have it.The atmosphere was the best for us travelers to get a first impression of a Dublin pub!Prices OK, I think we paid ~23€ (incl. small tip).
Great Victorian Pub We visited early on a Monday lunchtime and received a friendly greeting. The Guinness was poured properly and tasted excellent. We later decided to eat and had an enjoyable light lunch - being too full after a hotel breakfast for the traditional bacon and cabbage.
If you're looking for old school charm it's here! Great pub, drinks are good, staff are friendly and prompt and there is an amazing atmosphere. This pub has retained its old school charm despite being surrounded by 'modern' Dublin.
